What's a gun youd buy if it was convienient and the price was right but not necessarily something you are looking for or planning to have built. I have many guns that fit into this category but they aren't must haves. Most of them are pretty common, and used to be reasonable priced.
6.5 swede, either a Remington classic, 70 fwt or Ruger tanger.
308 760 carbine.
Savage 99f in 308
Model 88 , 284
7600 , 243
722, 257 bob.
Ruger African 375.
Really nothing super super rare but not on every shelf. These are the things I'm kind of browsing for when I walk through a gun show

1970's remington 870 w/ vent rib.
I need a 16, and a 410.
I've missed out on a few, and now they're ridiculous.
Ruger Red Label in a 28

Winchester 1895 in .30-06 for a shooter.
Any straight walled 1895 for “lookin at”.
A pre-64 Winchester model 70 “Alaskan” would be pretty nifty.
Still need an International Harvester M1 to round out my collection.
I don’t know squat about them but I’m always drawn to Winchester lever guns.

Just sold a nice 722 300 savage today. Didn't need the money or anything, but the guy has been asking about it for a while And I know he'll enjoy it way more than me

I think when you get towards the geezer end of the curve you you put more value on having time to shoot your cool guns.
If I draw the cow elk tag I'm after, it's the .58 flintlock plains rifle or nothing this year.

If I ever draw my moose tag I'm 100 percent going to use one of my 300 savages. Probably my great grandfathers 99f
