For clean skinning it is, and butchering...skinning game. 5" curved skinner is the one...they make a 6" but it's too long for me to handle nice when skinning beaver.

I bought my last one from Steve (Pete) Peterson of Peterson Furs....the FHA route guy from Romona SD. $15 or so.

You can get way out in the weeds when it comes to knives.
Knife nerds can glaze your eyes when they get into the minutiae of steels, etc.
But yes, the green rivers are good knives.

Thanks Marty. my dad found that knife 15 or so years ago, he replaced the handle with part of an antler, the handle looks small because it was made to fit my sons hand when he was 7, it is a real handy knife around the fur shed. Any info on the stamp would be interesting, later Brandy.
